Headlines (30 characters max — Google Ads RSA)
Descriptions (90 characters max)
Limits are Google’s responsive search ad caps: 30 characters per headline (15 slots), 90 per description (4 slots). Amber = within 4 of the cap — display can still truncate on narrow screens, so front-load the meaning.
Methodology & honest limits
How it works: live counts against Google’s published responsive search ad limits — 30 characters per headline (up to 15), 90 per description (up to 4). Amber warns within four of the cap, because narrow screens truncate before the limit.
Honest limits: fitting is necessary, not sufficient — the checker validates length, not persuasion. Write for the search first, then trim to fit; a bland headline at 29 characters loses to a sharp one at 25.
