Should I bid on my own brand name?

Only if someone else already does. Search your business name in a private window: if competitors' ads sit above your listing, a small brand campaign (usually pennies per click) defends clicks you'd otherwise lose. If the results are clean, save the money — you already own that page.

Only if someone else already does. Search your business name in a private window: if competitors' ads sit above your listing, a small brand campaign (usually pennies per click) defends clicks you'd otherwise lose. If the results are clean, save the money — you already own that page.

Recheck monthly; competitors start and stop brand-bidding without notice. And if a rival does bid on your name, don't panic-outbid — your ad on your own name is nearly always cheaper and better-positioned than theirs, because relevance scoring is on your side.
